Update: Devon County Council's Executive Committee approved the proposals to enlarge Woolacombe Primary School from 130 places to 175 places with effect from September 2008, conditional upon the receipt of planning permission being received, at their meeting on 26 February 2008.
Devon County Council Local Authority, after consultation, have issued a public notice regarding the proposed enlargement of Woolacombe Community Primary School from 130 places to 175 places with effect from 1 September 2008.
The enlargement to the school implies that an additional 45 pupils will be admitted to the school. This is because of the net capacity figures which have to be quoted. In reality during the summer term 2007 there were already 162 pupils on roll, so the increase is not nearly so great as first appears. |

Update April 2009: Due to a delay in receiving planning permission, the groundworks tender and ordering of the unit could not be initiated. As such the implementation date for the enlargement of Woodbury Primary School has been modified to 1 September 2009 (originally 20 April 2009).
At its meeting on 16 December 2008, the Executive resolved:
(a) that the results of the Public Notice be noted and approval be given to the enlargement of Woodbury CE VA Primary school from 140 to 168 pupils with effect from 20 April 2009, conditional upon planning permission being received by 17 April 2009; and (b) that approval be given to the funding of this scheme as a New Start Project funded from unallocated contingency within the CYPS Capital Programme. There's no Doctor and no Tardis to take us there, so Brixham Town Council and The Community Partnership are commencing a Brixham Parish Plan. A Parish Plan will set out a vision for how Brixham wants to develop, and identify what needs to be done to achieve it.
The plan will cover everything that is important to you,
the residents and businesses of Brixham. The Parish Plan will give everyone a chance to say what they think about the social, economic and environmental issues affecting their community, and how they'd like to see it improved in the future. |
